New London, Blackgate
London's political regime fell during the great depression. In its place, the royal family, or what is left of it, has stood once again with all the corruption one might expect. The Royal family has 'liberated' New London of Supernatural and built a stronghold wall around the heart of the city called "Black gate" to protect royalty, nobility and the elite. The reality is it is mostly security theater, as the royals know there is many supernatural among them. To counter this problem, mercenary hunters are legalized to hunt down and kill all supernaturals both inside and outside the gate. With a distraction of war against supernatural kind across Western Europe and in Northern Ireland, New London has become a ripe location for black market, smuggling, sabotage and more.
- Harbor District - Sits along the Thames on the Eastern side where the ship gates are. There are docsk to the industrial side south of Whitechapel outside Blackgate. and an inner dock for vessels permitted in, typically only of political or military order. Vessels like the Depot are required to dock outside of the gate.
- The Gold District - The Elite inner city inside of Black Gate; Upper class city housing, Department stores, Government buildings, classier shopping centers, Upper-middle class row houses, Parks. This district sits on the north of the Thames around Buckingham Palace.
- East Gate - East End & Whitechapel. This entrance only opens for industrial equipment. Though it is said the river canals have a smuggling passage into the inner city from this side. The railways exit high on the wall, and on the Northern side of the East, there is a platform to board to go to the North East and once as far as Scotland.
- West Gate - The Primary road entrance in and out of the inner city. It is well guarded. the Region outside the West Wall is primarily Middle class residents, shops, markets, and trade of a safer variety run on this side of the city. The railways also run on this side on the south side of the Thames. There is rumors there is a passage through the rail tunnels inside the wall if you can time the arrival and departures of the trains without being crushed. the tunnel access is "locked" but leads to the underground of London.
- North Gate - Said to remain closed at all times. The northerners outside the gate speak a great deal of seeing Crawlers since the war started.
Willow’s Peak - Dublin, Ireland
Ireland has a whole has claimed itself a sanctuary for humanity, declaring that Witches, albeit of unnatural power, are among them. Many Witches not partaking in the Legion have gathered, and forged their own town in Wicklow Mountains just south of Dublin port. Ireland remains primarily farmland and dangerous bog, but maintains its place as one of the most magical lands. Wicklow remains one of the most ‘magical’ places in the world, the village itself centered around an old Mansion called the House of Mirth that has stood for centuries. Many of the Witches here are wives and children of those serving in the Legion, or the elderly who cannot serve, and those abstaining from fighting at all. Despite the sanctuary given, Ireland has become a target once again of the United Kingdom, using Northern Ireland to invade with frequent plane bombings. Ireland wont stand for more from the Crown after such a long history, and the Witches under their protection assist in protecting the country as well as healing in their gratitude. Daemons and Vampyres remain unwelcome, at least without a Witch chaperone.
- The House of Mirth - Situated in Willow’s peak, this Mansion has existed since the dawn of Witches. Much of the House is castle converted to mansion holding segments of the history it has stood through. It is a monument in its own right, quirky in both design and personal attitude. The house itself is either enchanted or very well haunted, likely both. Whole the oldest Matriarchy of the Blackwood coven heads the house, she is not it’s original owner. No one truly knows who is. It is said that lost things can be found in the house despite losing themselves where, and that the doors inside can open to any door in the world. But it is also said that Wicklow isn’t the only place it has stood. Refuge Witches have surrounded the mansion, forming Willlow’s Peak, as a symbol of their strength. As Blackwood is certain that the House of Mirth will always stand.
- Northern Ireland is still held by the United Kingdom. It is being used to bring troops to Irish lands. Most of the fighting on Irish soils rests along that border as Ireland pushes back the forcers with their magic wilding allies.
- Most of Ireland is farmland, bog, and oceans raging against cliffs. Most of the bombing is aimed at Dublin, leaving the rest of Ireland to be a little more peaceful
The Isle of Manavia
A region overrun with Supernatural kind, the Isle of Manavia stands apart from all nations and sanctuaries. Once the Isle of Mann, it was taken in the early 1930s by those fleeing the mainland witch-hunts. The human population was destroyed or enslaved, leaving only the unnatural to claim what remained. Over the past decade, the city has transformed from a modest trading port into a ruthless engine of profit and power. What began as a surge in commerce after years of stagnation quickly spiraled into something far more calculated; A feeding ground for opportunists who saw gold in every shadow. Ships began arriving in greater numbers, bringing foreign merchants, smugglers, and financiers who reshaped the economy to suit their ambitions. Old laws couldn’t keep up, and those who tried to enforce them found themselves outbid, outmaneuvered, or quietly removed. The island thrives on what it can barter, blood, magic, asylum, and information. Each more valuable than coin. For humans, it is a dangerous place without a supernatural guardian. While some bring trade to the ports, they are often left alive to spread rumors. By 1939, the Isle became a target of ariel bombings of which it has unnaturally withstood. Since the bombings, the Legion has held and operative base there as a central headquarters for officers, but outside the city as they do not participate in its shifting leadership.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Edinburgh serves as a designated sanctuary city, using its historic civic structure and dense stone-built landscape to provide safety for benevolent Witches and Daemons seeking protection from persecution. Its natural elevation, narrow closes, and tightly connected districts help authorities manage movement and maintain organized oversight without altering the city’s real geography. This stability is now under strain as Edinburgh is being bombed for its decision to offer sanctuary, forcing local officials and supervised supernatural representatives to focus on emergency protection, civilian safety, and preserving essential infrastructure. Despite the attacks, the city remains committed to safeguarding those under its care and maintaining order within the limits of its real-world civic framework.
Liverpool, UK
Liverpool functions as an open sanctuary (mortal and supernatural) under Legion control, and its real-world position as a major port has made it the primary battleground because London seeks to reclaim it. After the Legion seized the city, its docks, rail lines, and industrial districts became strategic corridors that the capital now targets with sustained military pressure. Liverpool faces sea bombardments along the waterfront, aerial bombings aimed at transport hubs and key infrastructure, and soldiers advancing on foot through surrounding districts as London attempts to retake the city. With human governance displaced, the Legion manages security and daily order while defending Liverpool’s borders and streets against continuous attacks. Liverpool and its surrounding areas, as well as the stretch between Liverpool and New London have become the primary United Kingdom Battlegrounds. However, Liverpool also serves as the best chance to cross the channel to Ireland or The Isle of Manavia.
New Nation
New Nation, a common nickname used by foreign powers for the isolationist regime that emerged after the United States, Canada and Mexico cut all communication with the world in 1931. Following widespread supernatural exposure, America initiated a complete internal purge of all non-human entities, by eradicating or expelling them. The campaign forced surviving Supernaturals to flee to other countries around the world, intensifying the supernatural war in Europe. Under the self-declared Federal Directorate, the nation has advanced rapidly in mechanical and scientific technology, developing machines and weapons far beyond known standards rumored to be result of occult origin. No verified contact has been made since the closure of borders; all transmissions are limited to coded mechanical signals that cannot be deciphered. While New London regards the so-called “New Nation” as a human-led stronghold, its secrecy, silence, and unexplained technological progress remain matters of concern. In the Supernatural world, it is rumored that any who go there do not come back. Scrying and other spells reveal to either great pain and suffering or death. Refugees of New Nation are steeped in trauma, including humans who have too fled. Some trade routes still exist through Mexico and Canada, where the ports are quieter and less restricted nor enforced by military bases or large weaponry.
This is an unplayable region, however characters can be refuges from here
The Depot
A drifting city that emerged from New Nation early in 1931. The Depot is an old streamline that ran between Liverpool and New York that was commandeered. Or as rumor has it, stolen to escape New Nation. It was predominately occupied by woman, children and young men either too young or fearful to fight. Witches, Daemons and Vampyre among them until it first arrived in Liverpool and offloaded. A small group remained aboard, becoming the foundation of the Depot. After a battle to retake the ship ending in failure, the Depot has moved from port to port collecting new inhabitants, supplies and starting trade. Each time the Depot has stood its ground from being retaken. No one is quite sure how it remains fueled, but from so many casualties attempting to take it, and the start of the war, the Depot has been left alone. As resources in many ports are dwindling from international trade collapse, the Depot is starting to be welcomed in places like the outer ports of Blackgate for trade of supplies. In the last Decade, the Depot has fitted the ship with weaponry, and has defended itself from dozens of air strikes, piracy, and more. Even overtaking Battleships that now travel in its fleet.
The Depot operate as a matriarchy with full female leadership. They are a refuge for woman and children not just escaping war but abusive families. They are neutral ground in the war, not participating in it whatsoever beyond defending themselves. They are skeptical of men, and Vampyres (mostly because a long voyage tends to make them hungry) but if approached, may considered passage aboard their ship to live if one can pull their weight or other ports.
